Approved as project underwriter for FNMA in July, 1984. Started in the real estate business as a teenager and obtained his Real Estate Broker's license in 1970 and during the course of his career, has worked as a property manager, Vice President and Chief Appraiser for various mortgage loan entities in the Dallas area and as a staff appraiser
Mr. Guffey has extensive experience handling every aspect and type of residential appraisal to include both urban and rural, land, condominium, manufactured housing and custom structures such a log homes, geodesic homes, earth sheltered residences, and estate-class homes with values in excess of $3 million. This experience includes refinance, REO/foreclosure, market analysis, Appraiser Field and Desk Reviews, court-ordered valuations for fair market value for divorce and estate settlements. Mr. Guffey has testified many times as an expert witness in the field of real estate valuation for various reasons and handles numerous cases of representation before appraisal districts on valuation appeals.
As owner and principal of Ward Guffey & Company, he is dedicated to providing the highest quality appraisal service in the 17-county area surrounding the DFW Metroplex. He has 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. He loves fishing and is active in many civic, charitable and fraternal community projects.
